"As you probably know Grandpa father, Andrew Franklin Daugthry (Daugherty) was a full blood Irishman born just 3 or 4 months after his folks come to America from Dublin, Ireland. No Doubt, like most immigrants they landed in New York and went West in Pennsylvania, so Andrew grew to manhood in Pennsylvania and married a Pennsylvania Dutch girl by the name of Dollie Stombaugh. They then went down the Ohio River to Louisville, KY. Vicinity where Grandpa was born. When Grandpa was a little boy about 4 years old, he and his folks fled KY after his father, Andrew, got into a fight and killed a man again. They fled KY by River Boat down the Ohio River and Mississippi to N. E. Arkansas area and Grandpa slightly changed the spelling of family name."
This is what my youngest aunt wrote to me and outlined the following:
Andrew Franklin DAUGHTRY was born in PA and married a "Pennsylvania Dutch (German)" girl by the name of Dollie (?nickname) STROMBAUGH (?Correct spelling).
Children (known) of Andrew and Dollie DAUGHTRY:
1. Frank DAUGHTERY
2. William Howard DAUGHTRY born June 09, 1883
3. Martha Jane DAUGHTERY born April 25, 1887
4. Thomas DAUGHTERY born February 18, 1898
William Howard DAUGHTRY married Clara Bell (?) and had Reatha Pearl DAUGHTRY who was born December 19, 1906.
As of the 1920 US Federal Census, Reatha Pearl (my grandmother) was living in Jones, Greene County, Arkansas with her mother in her uncles household. There is no mention of William Howard (her father) in that household, so am "assuming" he had died.
Anyone with a connection or knowledge of this family, please email me at [email protected]
