HI..
I wonder if you are aware of the Robert McKibbin and his
son of the same name who were both surgeons who went to
the Hawaiian Islands.Robert Sr. became the surgeon to
Queen Liliokalani.
How did your family get to NZ?What city did they first
settle in?
My great-grandfather was Robert Irvine McKibbin and he
was named after his paternal uncle.I have found a John
McKibbin married to a Mary Irvine in County Down, and
Mary's father might have been named Robert.The time
frame fits.The names John and Mary are in my family.
Our immigrant McKibbin was Thomas McKibbin, who came
with his wife Jane in 1812.He was supposedly born in
1766 or so.
