Michael Holley; one of 99 survivors of Battle of Balaklava ?

My great-grandmother, Catherine Mary Holley (m. Arthur Howard Beers) was supposedly Irish but born and raised in Liverpool, England. Her father was supposedly Michael Holley, one of the 99 survivors of the Battle of Balaklava during the Crimean War. Can anyone help me pin down any part of this oral history mystery? Many thanks!
