My wife and I stayed in Kinsale 2 years ago on our visit to Irleand. It is a beautiful location with emerald green hills running right down to the shoreline. There are small colorful cottages and grazing sheep dotting the hills. The main industry now is tourism. The town itself is very old and the harbor has been in use since Viking times. Narrow streets and an almost medieval atmosphere. It is qaint but it is full of shops. A large Spanish garrison was billited here during the last great war between the Irish Catholics and the English Protestants. No doubt some of the locals would carry some Spanish DNA in their genes. We checked on housing costs and got some real "sticker shock".German, English and Dutch nationals are buying up property and have driven the prices skyward.A small house is about $350,000 US.It would be a great place to live for six months or a year. There is little chance of finding any work so you would need an outside source of income.
