I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE SUBJECT: The name of the Castle should read DUNSHAUGLIN CASTLE. If anyone has information on an Irish Castle known now or in earlier times as Dunshauglin Castle in County Meath in the 1680's era, I would appreciate hearing from you.
If you have a research or family interest in this Davis Stockton, you might like to refer to two queries on the Stockton Family Genealogy Forum, Queries 970 and 983 posted by a Rob Langdon in September, 2002 in which he states that Lord Davis Stockton was born in Dunshauglin Castle, Northern Ireland in 1686. I am trying to verify this information as this Davis Stockton is an ancestor of mine. Also for all the history buffs, what does it take for one to be called by the title of Lord?
I notice that another early immigrant known to have traveled together in Albemarle County Va in those pioneer days was a Michael Woods who is also said to have been born at Dunshauglin Castle in County Meath Ireland in about this same time frame. Do any of you know more about this? Thanks, Dru Tiliakos
