I don't know when you're going to Dublin, but if you're not going anywhere else in Ireland, I'd suggest you contact the General Register Office at 8-11 Lombard Street East, Dublin.They -might- have pertinent parish records to help you trace your ancestors.Your time line is too early for civil registrations, as you know.If you have time before you go,you might see if you can find the marriage record for Mary Mahoney in England.If there's a civil registration of her marriage, you may be able to find the church in which she married.Catholic church ecclesiastical records may well give you her place of baptism.Note that a copy of the church record of the marriage probably will not provide that information, but generally they keep ecclesiastical records as well.As for Oakley...I would think that the Church of England may be able to provide you with further information on him.
Since you know where he was born, you may be able to check parish records for him.If you're in England, your local LDS Family History Center almost certainly has English records of marriages.It's a place to start.Good luck!
