JAMES HAYES was born 1833 in Barrington Bridge Limerick City County Limerick. He is believed to be the son of Patrick and Johanna Hayes. He had a brother Michael and sister Johanna. Johanna Hayes (the mother b. about 1800), James, Michael and Johanna (sister of James and Michael) all came to City of Utica, Oneida County, New York about 1851. Unknown what became of the father Patrick. James was literate and began work as a railroad clerk in Utica, NY. He later beacame a successful grocer, brewer and politician. He died in Utica, NY in 1899. I'm interested in any information about James and any other family members that relates to them in Ireland before they left in 1851. Any specific information or just suggestion on where to look in Ireland would be greatly appreciated. Also any general history of mid-1800's Limerick City would be great. Thanks for any help.
