The O Dwyers/ Irish - Ui Duibhir / Ui Dubhuidhir / odhar – sallow or dark were a Sept / Family branch - whose Native Irish territory was originally in the west of *Co. Tipperary of Kilnamanagh. They were a leading Irish Family in mid – Co. Tipperary where they were Lords / Chiefs and a great name in the resistance to English domination. They survived as a Native Irish Family until modern times. Michael Dwyer was involved in the United Irishmen’s rising in 1798 and continued on until 1803 when he was transported to Australia where he became the High Constable in Sydney. Their Castle was Ballysheeda at Kilmananagh where it is also known as the Cappagh White Castle.Donohill / Dun Eochaille / Fort of the Yew Wood, in Co. Tipperary, was the previous territory of the O Dwyers where their motte is still there but their fort is gone.
The Mac Egans / Irish - Mac Aodhagain / Aodh - fire were Irish Brehon Lawyers / An very important Sept / Family branch – of the Ui Maine Tuath / True Family – whose Native Irish territory was originally in the south of Co. Roscommon and the east of Co. Galway. They later migrated into *Co. Tipperary into the kingdom of Ormond and were lawyers, judges, historians and chroniclers and were also in Co. Kerry. Their castle ruins are on the way out of the town of Ballinlough and Loch O Flynn from which the River Suck begins. Also anglicized as Keegan,
