My maternal g-f, also William Flanigan, b. 1879, Coatbrdige, Scotland. Family came from Nock Athea,Ireland. Still have family in Coatbridge, I cannot pinpoint place in Ireland and just recently sent to Scotland for birth papers on my grandparents. I have a copy of my g-f citizenship papers and he lists his race as Irish which I find amusing. My g-f was steelworker and came to the US in 1927 and resided in Buffalo, NY in the Irish part of the city referred to still as South Buffalo ... The search goes on
