tcc, O Commane or O Commons / Irish - Ui Comain were a Native Irish Sept / family branch - who had their original territory in the Munster Province. Also used for the Ui Cuimin Sept who had their Native Irish territory in Co. Mayo in the Connacht Province. Usually anglicised as Commons in Co. Wexford and as Cummins in Co. Cork. Also used anglicised as Cumming / Cummings / Cummins.
Lawton / Irish – Ui Lachtnain / lachtna – grey / A Sept / Family branch - who used it to anglicise their name in Co. Cork.
Merriman / English name / Brian Merriman the poet used the Irish form - Mac Giolla Mheidhre as a translation but he was probably of the Clann Mac na Maraor the O Houlihan / It was also used as a synonym of Marmion a family of Norman origins who have been in The English Pale around Dublin since 1302.
O Tighe or O Tigue or O Teague / Irish – Ui Taidhg / There where 4 separate Septs / Family branches. Also used as a synonym for the English name Tye.
Gardiner / English & Scottish origins.
