DEACON Robrt Armagh Ireland
Robert Deacon born abt 1660 was a Pikeman for King William 111 and was taken to Ireland to fight in
the Irish revoultion and fought at the Battle of the Boyne.
My only information is that he was a cadet with a Gloustershire family, other information suggests he
may have come from Holland with William of Orange and the name could have been changed from
Dehan, Dehahn, or Dehuaghn to Deacon, it is also thought that the cadetship in Gloustershire may have
been a figment of the original authors imagination when writing the original famiy history in 1933,
possibly to cover up the possibility of the family originating in Holland.
I have not been able to establish any confirmed information on Roberts origin and am hoping someone
out there may be able to connect with me so that I may be able to advance my search into my familys
ancestory.
I have extensive information on the Deacon family from 1670 to the current day.
Please E-mail me if you think that you may be able to assist in any way.
Cheers Allan Deacon.
