Hi Kate,
Thanks for writting again. The Chicago reference was mainly because of the cousin who was there but there was also talk within the family that some Madigan's may have gone to Chicago but I don't know which one's . I only know of two members that came to the US and stayed in New York, I beleive that Maurice came to NY but returned.
Before I go on let mee explain that my provider (prodigy) keeps kicking me of so I may have to send a couple of e-mails to tell you all.
My grandfather and all of his siblings were baptisted in the same church in Shanagolden according to the Irish geanolist The Limerick Archives & Limerick Ancestry on Michael st. in Limerick. What they told me was baptism dates and sponsors whic also led to my greatgrandparents. From there it led to the name of my gr.gr. grandfather and that is where it ends.
I also know that not all parish priest will open their files and I had planned on calling ahead. But I understand that the national library and some other resources are available to a researcherbut you have be there to get access. I hope this clears up some of the confusion if I think of any thing else I pass it along and PLEASE it you can think of anything it will be appreciated. Thanks again Jack
