Hi Avril, Nice to hear from you & Thanks for replying. James is said to have arrived in NSW as James "GILKINSON" on the Lady McNaughton in Oct 1835. Margaret & James had 12 Children (I have their names). They settled in NSW, poss' around the Taree area, as I think they are buried there?? James died in 1896 & Margaret died in 1914.
My ancestor is James's son "Andrew" to his first wife Sarah.Not sure where he was born or where Sarah was). The details I have say James was born in Armagh - Ireland. But I was also told our family was from Scotland?? Rather confusing. Again Thanks very much for your reply. Do you have an interest in the Gilkisons at all?
