The term Taig, possibly anglicised as Tague,
is/was an offensive/derisory name aimed at Catholics in Northern Ireland.
The name Tadgh is the Irish version of Tim.
Taig may have derived from that as a general
name for Irish people.
Dont know of a last name Tague.
Have heard of Tighe, pronounced "toy",
but no particular county. Did know someone
of that name in County Limerick.
Good luck.
