Bridget Oneil/neil
I don't have a lot on Bridget but here goes:
Bridget Oneil (also listed as Neil) was sent from Ireland to Hobart, tasmania via Liverpool in 1833 on an Orphan Emmigration Scheme on the Ship Edward Colsten.
The Emigration scheme was developed by ladies of distinction in Ireland run by Lady de Bathe, but eventually consigned her charge to Captain Forster.
Bridget was born circa 1822 in County Cork and married James Brown in 1839 in Hobart, Tasmania. They had 9 children, Mary, William, John, James, Robert, Bridget, Eliza and Henry. The migrated in Victoria, Australia around 1841 and lived there until death in 1875.
I don't know anything about her family in Ireland.
If anybody knows of the Emmigration or of how I could find out further information about it also could you please let me know.
Thanks for your time.
