Terry, The O Killorans / Mac Giolla Luaighrinn/ devotee of St. Luaigrinn were a Native Irish Sept / Family branch who had their territory in Co. Sligo. Gilloran is a variant of their name used in Co. Roscommon.
The Mac Caseys / Mac Casthasaigh / were a Sept in the kingdom of the 3 Cholla brothers under the Ui Niall in Airgialla / Oriel especially in Co. Monaghan.
The O Caseys / O Cathasaigh / cathasach - watchful / is the name of 6 Septs in Co.Cork, Co. Dublin, Co. Fermanagh - Co. Mayo Co. Limerick and Co. Roscommon. Those in Co. Fermanagh, Co. Mayo & Co. Roscommon were erenagh Families / Brehon Lawyers etc.
Many of their real Irish names were actually Mac Casey but when an English Law was passed in 1623 banning all Irish names and also to gain employment the Mac's and O's were dropped and many have mistakingly resumed the O instead.
