Glad to extend some "hope" to you. Also remember that if you suspect Irish origins, do not overlook checking Genforum under the name BARKLEY as well. Indeed, I would also post if I were you under BYERS as well. And post all over the place, Family Search, Genforum, and anywhere else to boot. I think I had posted about forty times here, there and everywhere before the "brickwall" came a'tumbling down, or more precisely had large enough "cracks" in it to do more intelligent postings. I now have the American side back to 1729. The other suggestion I have is to contact the genealogist of the Barclay-One-Name Study, Carolyn Barkley. Your line may already be on file with them from a distant cousin you never heard of before. I now am in touch with over 20 really distant "cousins" from that source alone. And all this in less than 18 months using the internet. BUT be forewarned, this game is ADDICTIVE !!! Use GOOGLE to get to the Barclay-One-Name-Study and Carolyn's e-mail address.Let me know if that tip works for you. My line is listed under F0013 if you inspect their listings of Barclay families.
Cheers !!! And GOOD LUCK too !!! And if you need any help along the way, be sure to ask for some from me. I will do the best I can for you with more suggestions perhaps, and if I know more about your line, I could keep an eye out for you as well, and let you know when and if I come across something relevant.
My direct e-mail address is [email protected] I prefer that as getting a posting on Genforum sometimes is
a wee bit difficult from here in Ireland where I chose to retire from New York over six years ago.
All the best !!
Hartley Barclay
