I am hoping you might help me.My ancestor sailed from Ireland to Wilmington around 1747 on a ship captained by Capt. Beverett. This land was part of a land grant given for protestants who were being persecuted for their religion. He settled the land which became Duplin County, NC.It was located near the Cape Fear River. He married Capt. Beverett's widow, Barbara Gaston, later and had three sons.I have reason to believe that he is from Doneagal, Ireland.I am trying to trace the family line from 1747 back.I think Joseph was born in 1701 in Ireland.Any info on parents' names would be greatly appreciated.
