It sounds as though you have to do a great deal of work in this country before you can find them in Ireland, because they came over here before the death records in this country came information about where the person had been born, and to whom.Bennett is a fairly common Anglo/Irish name.There were quite a few Bennetts in Co. Cork but also in other Irish counties.Griffith's Valuation (1850s) and Tithe Applotment records (1830s) can give you some idea of the distribution of Bennetts in Ireland, but your best bet is to do more work in the U.S. and hopefully get info from death certificates, family histories,etc.Best bet other than Genforum, that is!
