The 88th Foot The Connaught Rangers left France for Canada where they spent about a year after the Peninsular Camaign when Napoleon was captured. When Napoleon escaped prir to the Battle of Waterloo, the 88th were recalled to Europe but missed Waterloo but arrived in Paris in time for the celebrations! Well timed in one respect as the 27th Inniskillen Fus suffered severe casualties in that battle. The 88th were Wellingtons "Storm Troopers" in the Peninsula. I have a large collection of medals etc related to the 88th and their sister regiment the 94th Foot. I am always trying to add new material and knowlege.
