I have checked with the book "The Atlantic Canadians 1600-1900" for Robert Johnston from
PEI and found only 2.One was a farmer, living
in 1890 in Long River;the other was a printer
living in 1890 in Charlottetown.Unfortunately
there is no Alonzo listed in PEI. Since most
of my research is in NB or NS,with their an-
cestry in Ireland,Scotland, and England I do
not have much from PEI. Could you tell me the
time period the John Johnston you spoke of,is
from? Have you been able to find anymore info
since your message 17 May'98? I seem to have come to a wall, other than the bit on the st-
one that says both John and Elizabeth were B. in Enniskillen,Ireland, and went to St.John,NB
in 1818.They were young,she 16/17 and he 19.
No hint as to parents or siblings.Guess I'll
have to take a trip there myself.Do have a
good trip and I hope you find what you are looking for. What area of Ireland will you be
searching? Would be interested to hear on your return. The other family that I am look-
ing for in No.Ireland is James and Margaret
Baxter both B.1893,but where? Hope to hear from you.
