Dennison, Acton and Langley families
Patrick Dennison I (d. 1895), his wife Catherine Langley (native of the Parish of Balli (or Balla); b. 1805-d. 4/18/79), and their family
came from County Mayo, Ireland about 1860. They came to Parkersburg because work on the new railroad was available
here. Children: Brigid Dennison, Maria Dennison and Patrick A. Dennison
Their son, Patrick A. Dennison (1854-1935), started to work for the B & 0 Railroad Co. when he was 14 years of age. He
worked 61 years for the Railroad Co. as a car inspector. His honesty, integrity, and industry made him a respected employ and
a stand out citizen of Parkersburg. He married Mary Vincent Acton (1859-1918) on 9/25/1883.
