Greetings Again,

After searching the parish records of Kells from 1800-1835, I believe there is the possiblity there may have been a slight name change over the years from Crawley to Crowley. As I have not been able to prove that the Patrick Crawley we found is our Patrick Crowley I can't say for sure. But they are the only Catholic Crowley/Crawley family in Kells for that whole period of time. It is a name not common to the region. His father was Christopher Crawley. His mother Mary Fox. The Fox name is quite common to the town. There is also a slight (5 year) discrepancy in the birth year.Patrick Crawley was baptized 3/5/1815. But, in reading census info for Patrick, he did not seem to be tied to accuracy in this respect. His siblings were as follows: Jane, bapt 2/24/1812; Christopher, 8/18/1813; Mary, 3/5/1817; William, 1/11/1821. I do believe this is our guy, but I need more proof. Any assistance, one way or the other, will be appreciated. Any descendents of his brothers and sisters out there???
