Hi Kathleen,

How nice to hear from you! Thank you for your post.

The relevant information I have regarding your response is as follows:

My ggg grandmother was Catherine Fitzsimons of Glanidan who was probably born in the early 1760s. She married my ggg grandfather Patrick Maguire of Killrush, Cty. Meath (b. c. 27 September 1762 in Clonmellon, Cty. Westmeath) on 19 April 1785 in Collinstown, Cty. Meath.

Their grandson was my gg uncle Thomas Maguire who was born c. 9 August 1809 in Collinstown, Cty. Meath.

I have gathered no additional information on Catherine Fitzsimons or on any other relatives from Collinstown.

I do have quite a bit of additional information on my relatives in the late 1700s and early 1800s from the area around Clonmellon, which is not far from Collinstown. I will gladly share that information if it is of interest to you.

My wife and I visited Clonmellon one day this past spring, and we encountered a Fitzsimons pub. It was not open yet (morning), and we were bound for Galway. I can not vouch for the pub's quality, therefore, but I imagine that since you and I are no doubt somehow connected to its proprietor, it must be top-rate.

All the best,

Frank Winslow
