I search the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds B4 1840 are sparse.

For Hugh Fagan B 1847 in Meath with a father named Patrick, I found 0 B rcds in Co. Meath. By this date only 3 RC parishes weren't keeping B rcds.

For a Hugh/Mary marriage in 1842 +/- 4 yrs in Meath, I found 0 matching M rcds. By 1842, only 6 parishes weren't rcd'ng marriages.

It may be that the events weren't rcd'd, rcds didn't survive, or rcds haven't been digitized (unlikely), or the search parameters I used weren't correct. Will leave it to you to try other.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Good luck.
