On 12 Jan. 1856 James MATHEWS and his sister Anne placed an ad in the “Irish American Newspaper” seeking word of their missing brothers Peter and Thomas, originally from Newgrange, County Meath, Ireland. Peter had left home about 9 years earlier (therefore about 1847) and Thomas about 5 years (around 1851). Thomas had worked in a brick-yard in Planks Point NY (= Verplanck in Westchester county?) which he left for the White House (=White Horse?) Railroad. James and Anne could be contacted through John DEVLIN, 33 Prince St. NY.
Does anyone think they have one of these people in their ancestry? Can anyone give me further information about any of them? What little is told of Peter here fits my ggggrandfather pretty well.
Paul
