Hi Mary,
Toohill is sometimes spelled Toughill. My great, great, great grandmother was Ann Toughill from Kilcummin, County Mayo. She was married to Michael Killeen.Michael and Ann had at least one child, named Owen Killeen.Owen was my great great grandfather.
Owen married a woman named Ann and had 6 children:Bridget, Ann, Margaret, Catherine, Martin, and Sean Killeen.Bridget was my great grandmother.
Bridget married Anthony Duffy and had 5 children in Kilcummin. They left Ireland around 1882 and came to Archbald, PA.There, they had four more children, one of whom was my grandfather.
Bridget's parents (Owen and Ann Killeen) and her three sisters also came to Archbald.Martin and Sean, her brothers, stayed in Kilcummin.
Last August, my son and I visited Kilcummin and found 2nd cousins through the Killeens. We visited with the grandson of Martin Killeen, one of Bridget's brothers.Anne Toughill Killeen would have been Martin's grandmother.
Of course, we don't know if my Toughills are your Toohills.I hope the information I shared will be of assistance to you.I wish I had more.
Best wishes,
Francis Duffy
