Moonan Family Origins
Posted by: John Moonan (ID *****2332) Date: December 26, 2002 at 19:25:34

I currently live in Florida but the family is originaly from New York City. I'm trying to do some research on our origins and noticed the references to the Moonan name in Drogheda. Does anyone have any information on the history of the Moonan name and the emigrations to the US?

My Grandfather was George Edwin Moonan born in NYC in 1887. His Father was Michael James Moonan and Mother was Lilian Volz. I do not have any information on when Michael was born or where or who his parents were.

THANX, John
