Deerings or Haugheys in Dundalk, Co. Louth, Ireland, 1880s Thulis

I know some of my family came to Chicago from Dundalk in the early 1880s. Does anyone know about the history of either of these families in County Louth? I never find Deering listed as an Irish name. Michael Deering and Bridget Haughey were married here. Also, has anyone ever heard of the name Thulis? My great-grandfather, Michael Thulis also came here in the 1800s. Thank you.
