Can someone help with a family McGuinness most likely from the Carlingford area. My great great grandmother Bridget McGuinness was transported to Tasmania in 1851 on the John William Dare for 7 years following a case at the Dundalk Quarter Sessions in April 1851 - she had previous convictions for larceny. She was said to be about 27 at the time but may have been a bit younger. She had siblings Peter (who was a soldier), Michael (who was in America) and Mary. The owner of some of the goods she stole was from Carlingford which is why I feel she was from that area. Bridget was Roman Catholic and could neither read nor write.
