I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 11,500,000 surviving rcds for abt 60% of Irish counties. Rcds B4 1840 are sparse.

1. For Ann(e)(ie) Boylan (+variants) B 1848 +/- 4 yrs, I found 5 B rcds in Co. Louth: 1846, 1848, 1849, 1849, 1852 for Drogheda, Carlingford, Ardee, Haggardstown, & Termonfeckin respectively. A view of the detailed B rcd SHOULD show the names of her parents. This will validate or invalidate the rcd.

2. For an "all Ireland" search, there are 19 B rcds, 2 of which are in 1848.

3. For a Michael Boylan in Co. Louth, M 1843 +/- 4 yrs, there is 1 M rcd for a "Michol" in 1848 in Drogheda parish. This MAY or MAY not be your ancestor depending upon the results in 1 above. If 1 is validated, then this M rcd SHOULD list the parents' names.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to the database. Good luck. Post a msg to Genforum to tell me the results.
