Hello Iím researching the English family and looking for the descendents of Terence and Mary (Duffy) English. Thanks to Sue McDonnell Iíve been able to piece together where and who some of my English family members are. In 1861 Terence English and his family were in Durham England. Following is what I found on the census.

Terence English Head 53 Born in Louth Ireland
Mary ď Wife 45
Patrick ď son 26
Bridget dau 24
Elizabeth dau 15
Catherine dau 13
Anna dau 10 my gg grandmother
Mathew son 8
Margaret dau 6

They were living in Benfieldside Terence.

In the 1871 census Mary was with her daughter and new son in law Peter Burns and another son Andrew English. Terence according to their marriage certificate was deceasedís. So he passed away between 1861 and 1871. Peter and Anna had a daughter Mary in England 1873 then immigrated to America in 1873 they lived in Pittsburgh Pa were they raised their family.
Catherine was sent to America when she was 16 the family was catholic and didnít want her to marry a Protestant name John Mcburney. According to Sue McDonnell John followed her to America and they got married in Pennsylvania then moved to Ohio were they had a nice large family.
If anyone has anymore information on any of the English/Burns/McBurney families I would love to hear from you and any help in providing me with anything past Terence and Mary would be greatly appreciated.
