To all Longford geneologists: the host of Longford Ancestry has built up over the last 30 years a unique geneological database of the families and vital records of Co. Longford, some never before available on the web. The site includes a huge volume of unique geneological info contained in such valuable sources as memorial inscriptions, wills, deeds, and newspaper extractions. Also includes biographical database of county officials, clergy, militia and yeomanry with details and biographical notes. Pedigree database contains info on thousands of Longford families contained in a dynamic database updated weekly.
The database is increased by free user submissions, so its future growth is limited only by the generosity of users. Everyone avoids wasteful duplication of time and energy spent on research, each contibutor stimulates research into their own family by contributing information that may also help others, as well as serving the needs of your family and community by ensuring the diffusion and survival of your records.
Due to the destruction of most Irish public records, a great deal of geneological information will be lost forever if not shared by those who each have their own little piece. Every spouse in our family line is a crucial piece of information for someone else's family tree, just as they may provide the vital missing clue for your own records.
