I search the IFHF's online database @ ROOTSIRELAND.IE. It has abt 19 million B/M/D and other records for MOST Irish counties. Records before 1863 are increasingly sparse and almost non-existant prior to 1800. Many early B/M/D events weren't recorded, or the records didn't survive.
For a John Dooner and Elizabeth Duff marriage in 1857 (exact), and parents' names unknown, I found 2 records in Co. Longford. A view of the detailed records (usually at a small fee) will help you pick which, if either is the correct one.
Since the parents' marriage record exists, it is highly likely that their childrens' B records also exist. Visit the database and continue the search.
Hope these clues help. Good luck and merry Xmas.
