I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 11,500,000 surviving rcds for abt 60% of Irish counties. Co. Longford's rcds are in it. ALL Irish rcds B4 1840 are sparse. Rcds after 1850 are nearly comprehensive. There are NO notes for Longford rcds which indicate that more rcds will be added.

For Bernard Coyle B 1850 +/- 4 yrs, I found 1 B rcd: 1848, Mullinalaghta parish. This may or may not be for your ancestor. You will have to view a detailed rcd to see if the data thereon matches that which you already possess, or can access. The B rcd USUALLY shows the parents' names.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database.
