Fellow researchers With yesterday's update there are now over 40,000 index entries in the database. These provide an important pathway to using the fantastic genealogical resource of the Registry of Deeds. The records are fully searchable on a number of the fields. The project has achieved this mile stone with the valiant efforts, gratefully acknowledged, of few but accepts help from anyone who can assist in any way. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~registryofdeeds/contributors/contributor_index.htm The project home page: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~registryofdeeds/index.html The coverage of the indexing effort is summarised at : http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~registryofdeeds/by_number/indexed.htm Anyone can contribute using the following form to index and summarise a deed. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~registryofdeeds/forms/make_abstract.htm In addition, index entries can be provided in almost any word processor or spreadsheet format. See the main home page. If you are unsure of how to help drop me an email and I can give some advice.
