I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It has 11,500,000 rcds now and covers abt 60% of Ireland. Surviving Limerick rcds are in it. However, rcds B4 1840 are sparse. I estimate that less than half the parishes were keeping birth/marriage rcds B4 1820. You can google the Foundation's name and check the "sources" as you browse the database.

There is ONE rcd for a William Hennessy B in 1823 (exact) in Co. Limerick. This MAY or MAY NOT be your ancestor. There are another 10 William Hennessys B in Limerick in the range 1819-1827. The only way to be sure is if you have an exact birth date. You could compare this exact date with the one(s) shown when you view detailed B rcd(s).

Suggest you try to find obits, or gravestones to tell you this date.
