MATTHEW SHAUGHNESSY found in Co. Limerick, Ireland
Posted by: Nancy Adkins Adkins (ID *****4877) Date: May 06, 2010 at 14:09:04

I have searched for 25 years for my GGGrandfather's place of birth and parents
in Ireland.
Today, I found MATTHEW SHAUGHNESSY in Carrigparson tooreen Limerick,Ire.

My Matthew O'Shaughnessy was born Dec. 1839 in Ireland, came to USA in 1856. We think he was with brother, MARTIN O'SHAUGHNESSY who was a year or so older. They came to Lawrence Co. Ohio. (where there was lot's of employment
at the time, 96 Charcoal furnaces going strong, two government contracts
for guns, and more. I found a marriage record for MARTIN O'SHAUGHNESSY
to Catherine Cearns or Kearns in July 1856 at St Larwence O'Toole Catholic
Church. Then Martin and catherine left town.
There was many many Irish families in this town at that time. That's where
Matthew settled his family.
I would appreciate any help.
Thank you,
Nancy
