I've been doing research on my Leitrim ancestors and since I'd read your post today, I picked up on the the surname of "Christie", which shows up on the Ellis Island website. Possibly the name was changed from Christie to Christy at some point?

Check the Ellis Island site, as it may give you a clue as to where your family originated from in Leitrim.

Good luck!
