Thank you again for your reply. I have checked my records and the Bierne names of your posting do show up but we are not sure of the relationship. The Griffith's listing for the late 1850s, as you probably know, shows separate holding for a Bridget, Mary, Philip and John Bierne. It also shows a listing at 34a of a James McFadden who might well be your McPaddens. I thought that I had a copy of the Tithe Listing from the 1830s which would be more contemporaneous with the baptismal record you have, but am unable to locate it. I am glad to see that the registry page exists.
I have not managed to get to Leitrim yet but have corresponded with the Heritage Centre, who have been helpful.
