Hi Carol.

I have always being interested in finding out more about my family but always put it off. Thank you for asking the question.

The following web site may be helpful. Leitrim Roscommon Genealogy. It has a new section on the 1901 census. I have being trying to get on the UK web site since it was published by it crashed when it was posted and this new site is brilliant. I found 5 listings under Holahan. Just type in Holahan and Leitrim any other information just confuses it. However the names you get will probibly be people living there 50 years after bridget left. However i found two great grand uncles i didn't know about. My Grandfather was Michael, brothers Hugh and Thomas, grand daughter Mary Smyth and Head of Household Mary.

Plus lots of information about my grandmothers family, but i digress.

I contact our genealogh centre yesterday and they gave me information on doing searches. There web site address is www.irishroots.net/Leitrim.htm. The price for a full family search is a little off putting and probibly unnecessary in your case but they do single searches also.

I am going to do a search to see how far the records go in relation to Holahan in Leitrim. It is not native so if it uncovers information i will gladly pass it on. However I feel she has to have come from one of the five families on the Roscommon Leitrim Site.

If you want me to submit the stuff on Bridget i will do so. It would awnser a lot of questions for me also.

Work is busy until Friday but i will follow up then

Finally and something i was never entirely proud of i felt my parents cursed me. But my second name is Brigid. Born in February what can i say.

Best wishes

Mary Holahan
