For Marianne Roper B 1844 (exact), Mountrath RC parish, Co. Laois, I found 1 rcd. Father's forename was John.

For William Shelly B 1838 +/- 1 yrs, Co. Laois, I found 1 rcd, 1837, Ballinakill RC parish, for a "William Shaloon." Father's forename was Dennis. This doesn't fit your criteria.
