Hello Anne:

For James Brophy M 1873 (exact), Camross RC parish, Co. Laois, I found 1 rcd.

For Sarah Bergin M ditto, ditto.

For Mary Sweeney M 1836 +/- 5 yrs, Co. Laois, I found 2 rcds: 1839 Portarlington and 1841 Borris-in-Ossory RC parishes.

For James Brophy M ditto, I found 2 rcds, but neither matching those found for Mary. This infers: 1) the rcds didn't survive. 2) haven't been transcribed. 3) were created elsewhere. or 4) some of your info is wrong. I do find a MICK Brophy M 1839, Portarlington.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
