Interested that you are doing research on Brophy also. Ours came to Middletown,CT and then to Springfield,MA . They were in CT in 1870 and in MA in 1880. Another thing, there is a Kelly that is a godparent. I don't have my papers with me, since I'm on vacation. Who are the Brophys that you are looking up. I think I remember in a census a Brophy woman who was a widow living with her father who was Kelly and having a few Brophy children but I don't know if that was in RI or MA or CT as I have looked for relatives in these three states.
