Searching for information on my ggf and ggm Matthew Kelly and Mary Delan(e)y. Family history says that Matthew was a tailor (his nickname was Tailor)and that he brought his sewing machine to Canada with him when he came in the 1840s. Matthew and Mary had one son, John b 1841, in Laois and possibly a daughter, Honorah (Hannah) b 1845 in Laois. The rest of their children William, Joseph, Mary Anne, Matthew and Patrick were born in Vinton, Quebec. Mary appears to have come from a well-to-do family and her tombstone bears the inscription "erected with her own money". This may have been money that was given to her by her family on leaving Ireland in case things didn't work out.

If you have any information on this family, please contact me. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of Parish.
