Wafer graves or records in Laois
Posted by: Anne Wafer (ID *****4071) Date: October 30, 2006 at 22:11:19

Has anyone come across graves or records connected with the surname Wafer anywhere in County Laois?

It's a name more usually associated with Co. Wexford, but my great great grandfather John Wafer was born in Queens in 1790, joined the RIC as a sub-constable in 1825, married a woman named Sarah in August 1828, and moved to South Wexford in November 1833. They were most probably a Church of Ireland family.

I'll be very grateful for any further information about, John, Sarah or their families.
