I found that Seanraud's site works great when the spelling is right on. It's too bad it doesn't have Soundex capability.

Given the area that I am searching, it seems likely the record I mentioned before should read Mooncoin, but was likely spelled Mooncoyne or Monchoine in the original, (spellings which I have found in a number of records). I agree that Ballynacooley is also a strong possibility for the address recorded as Ballnecole.

As you mentioned Knock???? townlands are numerous throughout Co. Kilkenny. However, I also located a reference to Knock as being "a subdivision and place name" within the townland of Gar(r)yduff. There are two Garryduffs in Co. Kilkenny. I concluded the one associated with Knock (part of Garryduff) (groom's address) and the townland of Owning (bride's address) both fall under the civil parish of Owning and the RC parish of Templeoram.
