Sorry, got my Catherines mixed up...
The Sullivans lived in Callan, but were not original to the area, as Donnagh A'Sulibhain(I'm not sure that's the spelling)arrived in Kilkenny in the late 1700's as a school master. It appears all the Sullivans in Callan are his descendents. My Catherine Sullivan was daughter of John Sullivan and Mary Cody.

The Callan Smyth's were connected to the area from the 1600's, descended from either Laurence, William, or Valentine Smyth. My Mgt Smyth was married to Wm Cody in Callan.
