My g.g. grandfather Thomas Connor was born Oct 12, 1842 somewhere in Ireland. His parents were Thomas Connor and Mary Stewart. Prior to 1866 and according to his Obit, Thomas traveled to Australia where he was a gold miner. From there he traveled to the U.S. and evetually lived and died in Murray County, Minnesota, U.S.A. I have checked out most of the US information Census, Citizenship, Census, State and Federal and only the notation of Ireland if found. His first wife was Mary Willard born in New York and his second was Celia Dufficy from Co. Roscommon but there is nothing to indicate he knew that family prior to his arrival in the U.S.A. Don't know if he was a resident of Kilkenny or not but looking for any suggestions?
