Desire contact,with any descendants of John
Harrington. A distant cousin,had an obituary
of this man,the date of which and the paper,
from where it appeared,is unknown. This John
Harrington,was a Justice of the Peace and "a
director of the Freeman's Journal Ltd". His
residence was 15 Idrona Terrace,Blackrock.It
stated"Mr Harrington had reached an advanced
age. He joined the Board of Directors of the
Freeman's Journal on February 18th,1897 and
was re-elected in 1901 and 1904. He was a
native of Dunlavin,Co. Wicklow,"where his an-
cestors were largely engaged in business owning the principal hotel and general stores.."He afterwards joined with a Kildare
gentleman named Hope in a large cattle contracts.."He was also a director for a number of years of Boland's Ltd; joining the
Board in May,1901. Mr Harrington was a well
known member of the Kildare Hunt Club..and,in addition to Cannycourt, he was the possessor in Kildare,at Castlewarden, and
at Cherryfield,Co.Dublin"
